I just read the whole wikipedia entry for Scientology, and let me just say I can not possibly see how this religion (is it a religion? I’ll go with… faith?) is even believable.

It sounds like something a stoner would create for fun, but not taking really seriously and then laugh about it later. I can’t even understand how this has followers… it makes absolutely no sense.

Among these advanced teachings is the story of Xenu introduced as an alien ruler of the “Galactic Confederacy.” According to this story, 75 million years ago Xenu brought billions of people to Earth in spacecraft resembling Douglas DC-8 airliners, stacked them around volcanoes and detonated hydrogen bombs in the volcanoes. This is serious…. And some people find the whole concept of Jesus rising from the dead hard to believe?

On a lighter note (after my past two posts), here’s a little sneak peak at the photos I took today!

I was lucky enough to be able to take photographs for the my old high school’s, John Carroll, rehearsal of Beauty and the Beast. Ms. B, one of the directors, warned me that it was really shaky but I thought it looked great! They still have week to go before opening night and I think with little tweaks here and there it’ll be fantastic.

Just a couple notes:

All these photos were taken TODAY in a two hour(ish) span.
None of the kids/actors & actresses were posing for ANY OF THESE PHOTOS. I got there at the beginning of their rehearsal and stayed till the end of their run through so these are all 100% live.

Thanks for your concern Sean, but it’s not about me. It doesn’t bother me.

I don’t care if the whole world thinks that I am a terrorist. That is fine, I never knew terrorists listened to Mariah Carey and wear pink nail polish but that’s fine. Call me a terrorist.

But the concern here is, Muslim women walking to the grocery store with their children will be attacked. Muslim or “eastern looking” store owners will be gunned down. It happened before, it’s going to happen again. That is unfair.

People get depressed in the army, some even suicidal, this is not the first incident where a soldier or someone else started killing others, this is the only time it was a guy with a muslim name so everyone is going crazy about it.

“Stressed by war and long overseas tours, U.S. soldiers killed themselves last year at the highest rate on record, the toll rising for a fourth straight year and even surpassing the suicide rate among comparable civilians. Army leaders said they were doing everything they could think of to curb the deaths and appealed for more mental health professionals to join and help out.

At least 128 soldiers committed suicide in 2008, the Army said Thursday. And the final count is likely to be even higher because 15 more suspicious deaths are still being investigated.”

There are plenty of bad people in this world. Yes what happened to us because of terrorism towards our country was awful but should we blame a whole nationality because of it? There are amazing, wonderful, kind Muslim people in the world just as there are terrible despicable Americans in the world. We shouldn’t justify discrimination because of the fact someone is not American.

The killings today are extremely tragic and upsetting, I don’t think anyone would or could argue against that. But is the fact that this man was Muslim to blame? I don’t believe so. War and stress of war can cause people to do crazy things, to have crazy thoughts. I believe he probably had deep psychiatric issues that we don’t know about. The news reported that he is a psychiatrist but just because he’s a psychiatrist doesn’t mean he wasn’t suffering from his own demons.

I think we should look at it this way: Regardless of race, nationality, background, heritage, upbringing, etc we are all human. We are all related to one another in one form or the other whether it be blood or marriage. So we should hold the same respect & compassion to others just as if they were our family.

As much as I think that this reporter may be overacting, I mean no need to go up in flames over this - I do agree that kid shows shouldn’t be shoving politics down children’s throats. There are some things in life that should be kept carefree and fun.

It was announced on 11 November 2008 that MTV has commissioned a spin-off series of The Mighty Boosh, starring Rich Fulcher as Eleanor the Tour Whore, the transvestite who appeared in the Series Three episode “Eels”. It is not clear if any other Mighty Boosh characters will appear in it. A 20-minute pilot episode has already been made, which can be viewed on several comedy websites currently and is expected to air on MTV2 shortly (as will the series).

WHY DOES MTV TAKE EVERYTHING I LOVE AND DESTROY IT?

I just hit 500 followers! This is absolutely crazy, I don’t know what all of you all see in my silly ol’ tumblr but you all are too sweet.
Big up to lucasdarway for being number 500! I actually just moseyed over to your blog and the first thing I saw was a post about Dead Man’s Bones - whom I absolutely adore! (:

Because of this I’ve decided to compile a little list of my favorite tumblrs!

daydream lily - I had been reading Liss’s blogspot blog for a really long time and then discovered she had a tumlbr so naturally I had to follow her! Her posts are always lovely, and always girly. Her blog is even more wonderful so I strongly encourage you to take a look at it as well!
What I Wore - I believe this was one of the first tumblrs I started following on here. I love seeing what outfits Jessica comes up with next. And most recently I love her tips and DIYs.
newfilosofee - I think Fatima was one of my first followers and I’m so happy she decided to follow me! I love her tumblr, it never fails to put a smile on my face from her photos of her little boy Amir to her cute posts on almost everything! But not only that, she’s also extremely intellegent and compassionate.
Justwatchthesky - I’m a sucker for typography…. and music.
SHAPESHIFT - Chloe’s tumblr always has the most wonderful fashion photos, and she herself is so fashion forward I’m always incredibly envious of her syle.
perseids! - Halina posts lovely artwork, photography, and other random oddities from all over.
